A woman was shot dead on Saturday morning in Long Beach after allegedly confronting and assaulting a number of local residents. The event took place around 1 a.m. on the 600 block of Roycroft Avenue. Local reports suggest that an unidentified woman had been forcefully knocking on the doors of multiple houses in the area, either demanding access or insisting that the occupants were indebted to her. Watch the report below:

After being told to leave by one of the residents, the woman was on her way out when another female resident drove into her own driveway. Eyewitnesses stated that the woman suddenly ran towards the newly arrived resident, preventing her from leaving her vehicle. The woman reportedly dragged the resident out of her vehicle and began to assault her using a stick. The screams of the victim drew the attention of several other locals, who came out to see what was happening.

Among the onlookers was a man armed with a handgun who instructed the woman to cease her assault, according to witnesses. The woman reportedly then lunged at him, which led him to fire a single shot. The woman fell to the ground and was later declared dead at the scene.

As of now, no arrests have been made and the police are still conducting their investigation.
