Renowned boxer Devin Haney was arrested on Thursday morning after police discovered a semi-automatic handgun in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop in Hollywood. Haney, who boasts an undefeated record and recently secured a significant victory against Vasiliy Lomachenko, had spent his evening at Catch L.A. When law enforcement pulled his vehicle over for unsafe lane changing and not using a turn signal shortly after midnight, the driver indicated there was a firearm inside.
Upon inspection, officers found a semi-automatic handgun under the driver’s seat. While no one claimed ownership of the gun, Haney, as the vehicle’s registered owner, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a concealed weapon. He was released later on Thursday morning on $35,000 bail and is scheduled for a court hearing next month.
Despite the arrest, Haney, who has enjoyed a string of impressive victories in recent years, seems to be eyeing his next opponent, engaging in a Twitter altercation with Teofimo Lopez.
