A teenage girl has been charged with two felonies after being caught taking selfies with a pink pistol in the restroom of a charter school in Daytona Beach. The 16-year-old was arrested on Thursday and charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds and carrying a concealed firearm, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

The police were called to Richard Milburn Academy, a charter school for at-risk students, after other students saw the girl taking videos and photos of herself with the gun.

The incident led to a school lockdown, and police officers questioned the girl about the gun. She admitted to hiding the weapon in the bushes in the back parking lot. An administrator searched for the gun but was unable to find it. In addition to the gun, the girl was found to be carrying two loaded magazines.

Taking a gun onto school grounds is a serious offense, and the girl is now facing the legal consequences of her actions. It is not clear why she brought the gun to school or what her intentions were. The incident highlights the importance of ensuring that schools remain safe and secure environments for students, teachers, and staff. The authorities will likely investigate the incident further to determine if anyone else was involved or if there were any threats made against the school or its students.

During the search, the police officer noticed a pink handle of a firearm in the girl’s waistband, according to police.
