Chukar are an imported species of bird from central Asia, they provide a solid challenge for any experienced hunter although there are no guarantees when going after these birds.

Hunting Chukar involves a lot more hunting than shooting unlike other bird species. If you are not a fan of hiking then this likely isn’t the game you’re after. Stories about these elusive birds go on and on, some have hiked over 50 miles while on the hunt and still failed to bring anything home.

Traditional practice at the skeet or trap field isn’t going to help you nab these guys. When you finally encounter them out in the mountains they tend to fly downhill and that’s a hard shot to make if you aren’t ready for it.
