Biden’s ATF nominee David Chipman is highly controversial, which we have written about extensively, and multiple 2A groups are uniting to push back against his nomination.

Chipman is currently listed as a “senior policy advisor” at the Giffords group where he is looking to get legislation on the books related to “Assault Weapons” and “Ghost Guns”.

National Shooting Sports Foundation(NSSF) senior vice president and general counsel Larry Keane said: “Gun control just got paid back in a big way. They didn’t get ‘a’ man for the job. They got ‘their’ man.” Larry Keane would go on to explain that the NSSF is not simply opposed to the nomination of Chipman but adamantly opposed to his nomination. The group will treat his nomination and any senator who votes to confirm him as a direct threat to the firearms industry and the second amendment.

The NRA said in a statement that “It’s hard to imagine choosing a nominee who is more hostile to the rights of American gun owners than Chipman.” The NRA would also argue that the former ATF agent has repeatedly lied to advance his gun control agenda citing that the Washington Post’s fact-checking wing gave him 3 “Pinocchios” over his claims about suppressors and Waco.

Gun Owners of America put out a statement about Joe Biden’s nominee for ATF:

GOA is also shocked at the brazen decision to nominate a registered anti-gun lobbyist to be Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. David Chipman’s anti-constitutional lobbying career clearly disqualifies him from holding public office.

GOA will spare no expense to defeat Biden’s tyrannical agenda and will rally gun owners and Second Amendment supporters nationwide to defend the right to keep and bear arms.
