An NRA staffer identified as Millie Hallow used $40,000 from the NRA to pay for her son’s wedding.

Interestingly, Millie Hallow’s son is the American Conservative Union’s communication director Ian Walters and he was getting married to CPAC director Carin Walters.

On Tuesday The Washington Free Beacon broke the story that the wedding was paid for with the NRA’s money. The Washington Free Beacon described Millie Hallow as Wayne LaPierre’s longtime assistant in their report.

This all came out in the ongoing bankruptcy trial the NRA is in. NRA general counsel John Frazer stated that Hallow did eventually pay back the money, Frazer said “A demand for repayment was made… And it was repaid with interest.”

While Millie Hallow may have paid back the NRA for this alleged embezzlement, this is not her first time engaging in acts like this. In 1984 Hallow plead guilty to stealing $23,691 from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities where she served as executive director. Note that Hallow still works for the NRA despite both these controversies.

From Personal Defense World:

Meanwhile, the NRA continues its claims that the bankruptcy and relocation serves as means to escape political persecution in New York. Most gun owners can understand that rationale, but man, we could do with less skeletons emerging in open court.

“No one was spared review in the entire organization, including Mr. LaPierre,” NRA lawyer Greg Garman said in his opening statement on Monday, reported The Washington Free Bacon. “We set out to put our own house in order, which we did.”

“Are there going to be facts that are moderately cringe-worthy? The answer to that is yes,” Garman said, reported The Washington Free Bacon. “We’re not going to run for them.”
