Coal boss and Trump ally, Governor Jim Justice announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate on Thursday evening. Joining the event were Senators Lindsey Graham and Shelley Moore Capito. During his announcement speech, Justice double downed on his support for President Trump, restated his commitment to the pro-life movement and promised to fight for 2nd Amendment rights.
Current West Virginia senator, Shelley Capito, voiced her support for Justice, detailing how they have worked together in the past to help the people of West Virginia. She also stressed the importance of flipping the West Virginia seat in order to maintain people’s right to own guns.
“I hunt and I fish. I have never seen a gun kill anyone ever. There is a heck of a lot of people that kill people. We need to do something about the people component and not the gun component.” said Capito.
“How can someone even come up up the thought of defund the police,” she added.
Senator Graham also praised Governor Justice’s pro-gun record saying, “Jim will move the ball forward in Washington DC. Jim Justice knows how to deliver for people he represents. He’s done it in his state! He’s an unashamed prolife Governor. He protects your guns and your wallet.”
“The soft on crime approach isn’t working. If there was a plan to screw up America is 2.5 years, Biden would win,” Graham jabbed.
The pro-Trump Justice has obviously garnered strong support from top Republicans and his stance on guns will resonate well with West Virginians.
