Two separate states have recently adopted Constitutional Carry measures, Ohio and Alabama. With the addition of these two states, there are now 23 states that have these measures in place and there are more on the way, this is phenomenal news not just for residents of these 23 states but for gun owners across the country.

Ohio

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed Senate Bill 215 into law on Monday night, allowing residents of the state to carry concealed without a permit. This legislation was groundbreaking and the signing was unexpected at this time, many thought that DeWine was going to hold the legislation until later this year so it would have more election impact.

Alabama

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed House Bill 272 during the tail end of last week. This legislation will allow Alabamians to express their Second Amendment rights without a heap of paperwork.

Things are moving along well in America, we are almost at the halfway point as 23 out of 50 states have passed some form of Constitutional Carry. More states are also on the way, several states are currently reviewing some form of Constitutional Carry so it is not unreasonable to think that by the end of the year we may have 25 or even 27 states with laws like these on the books.

There are of course some states that will never pass this type of legislation. New York and California are two states that will never pass Constitutional Carry, they will continue to suppress the rights of American gun owners so long as they can continue to play off of the narrative that guns are bad and carrying them is dangerous.

There may be a time in the near future when Constitutional Carry is passed nationally, but we are a few years out from that even being a conversation.
