Gun Stores have become the new target of local gun control efforts, if you can’t buy guns at a store you can’t have guns.

A suburb in Boston has made an effort to effectively ban gun stores from the area. Members of the Select Board in Brookline, Massachusetts are instituting a quarantine on gun stores, this new policy will require that all gun stores move to a certain set of city blocks. This move will effectively close some stores and prevent many others from ever being able to open.

The board is proposing this as a sort of middle of the road solution, activist in the are demanded that the board have a blanket ban on gun stores but this was shut down for fear of legal action.

Actions like this are new to the gun control movement. We have seen a recent shift in the way these groups operate, these gun grabbers know that they will lose lawsuits if they step over a certain line so they are instead opting to push right up to the line.

The Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence advised the town of Newton, Massachusetts to not peruse a total ban on gun stores as it could have backfired and resulted in a major lawsuit.
