South Carolina Representative Jeff Duncan has introduced a new bill that will remove short-barreled shotguns from the NFA.

If this new legislation, H.R. 4312, were to pass, the ridiculous $200 tax and registration required for short-barreled shotguns would be lifted and Americans would be able to purchase these firearms with no strings attached.

Duncan’s press release reads:

…in response to the Biden Administration’s proposed rule regarding pistol stabilizing braces, Congressman Jeff Duncan introduced the No Frivolous Applications for Short-Barreled Shotguns (NFA SBS) Act.

This legislation will remove Short-Barreled Shotguns (SBSs) from the National Firearms Act (NFA) to allow SBSs to be treated just as any other shotgun, thus preventing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) from forcing otherwise law-abiding gun owners to destroy, register, or surrender their legally acquired pistol-braced firearms.

Representative Duncan is not a newcomer when it comes to pushing for pro-2A legislation, the rep previously introduced the House version of the Hearing Protection Act.

This legislation would be a major win, if this passes then the 2A movement would have a massive notch on the belt when it comes to making progress. It should be clear to every supporter of the 2nd Amendment that the gun grabbers will never stop moving the goal post, it is time to start pushing back and take some ground along the way.  It is no longer enough to defeat the anti-gun legislation that gets pushed, Duncan’s bill is an excellent place to start.
