A store in High Point, North Carolina will stop selling guns after the store’s staff have become completely flooded by the amount of paperwork involved.

Too much of a good thing is ultimately a bad thing.

Jim Greene, the owner of “Coins and Stuff” in High Point, North Carolina, will no longer be selling guns in his store. This is not a stand against the Second Amendment, as Greene points out it is just not economically viable for him to sell guns considering the amount of paperwork involved.

In North Carolina, you need to have a CCW permit or Pistol Purchase Permit in order to purchase a handgun. This paperwork stacks up fast and the small stores can’t keep up.

“There’s a lot of difference now. It wasn’t much of a hassle back then. Just come in and have a permit,” Jim Greene said in a statement. “It’s not just walking in and buying a gun,” he said. “Oh, no, forget that.”

The issue of paperwork has gotten worse over the years and the recent bump in first-time gun buyers surely has not helped in any way.

While supporters of the 2nd amendment are glad to see more Americans express their Second Amendment rights, it is a true shame that these small retailers that do not specialize in guns can not keep up with the changes in legislation and increase in first-time gun buyers.
