Two reporters from USA Today have been pushing a slew of articles related to mass shooting in each state, the articles are all identical except for the details surrounding each state, this comes as Democrats in Congress move on major gun control legislation.
The two gun control bills currently on the table are massive reforms that will have a permeant impact on the 2nd amendment. The articles are coming forward just in time for Democrats to bring in this major gun control push.

One theory is timing. These articles all appeared in the lead-up to Democrats announcing a big move on gun control. On Thursday, the House passed sweeping legislation that would expand background checks on all gun sales.
According to CNN, the bills “will face a steep uphill climb in the Senate as Democrats hold a slim 50-50 majority and would need significant Republican support to overcome a legislative filibuster. Still, the legislation remains a priority for the Biden administration.”
Since the gun control debate has taken a back seat during the COVID-19 pandemic, that steep uphill climb might prove easier if Democrats had a good narrative to help them along.

Democrats still need Republican votes to pass this legislation as AIM’s Ella Carrol-Smith points out. With this nasty slew of propaganda it is hard to say what will happen, for now all we know is that these bills are a major part of the Democrats new plan for gun control and the media is engaging as activists on a new level.
