Jerry Nadler, the architect of the new “Assault Weapons” ban, said that the point of this legislation is to ban firearms in common use.

This came out during an interaction between Rep. Dan Bishop and Chairman Jerry Nadler.

Bishop: “Would anyone on the other side dispute that this bill would ban weapons that are in common use in the United States today?”

Nadler: “Yeah. That’s the point of the bill”

Bishop: “So to Clarify Mr. Chairman, you’re saying it is the point of the bill to ban weapons that are in common use in the United States?”

Nadler:  “Yes, the problem is they are in common use.”

Colin Noir had an excellent reaction to this.
