On Tuesday, a pregnant woman and her husband were caught in the middle of an attempted robbery at a gas station in Houston. The couple, who requested anonymity for their safety, arrived at the All Season Food Store around 5:30 p.m., with the woman intending to deliver a meal to her husband working there.
Meanwhile, two armed men were parked nearby in a silver SUV. After the woman called her husband, he came outside, and one of the assailants moved from the SUV to a green Dodge Challenger. The attackers, identified as Duque and an accomplice, confronted the couple, with Duque brandishing a rifle and even pistol-whipping the husband.

Despite the threats and violence, the woman retrieved a firearm from her bag and fired at Duque. Her husband also shot at him. They credited their firearms for their ability to defend themselves, expressing gratitude for being gun carriers.
The couple’s bravery and quick thinking thwarted the assailant’s intentions. Duque, a convicted felon, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon. The second suspect involved in the incident remains at large.
The woman expressed determination that nothing would happen to her partner before her due date, highlighting her resolve to protect her family.
