According to authorities, a shooting occurred in Cleveland, Texas, at around 11:31 p.m. local time, where several people were shot by an armed suspect wielding an AR-15 style rifle. Five people lost their lives in the incident, with the youngest victim being an eight-year-old child. Two female victims were found in a bedroom on top of two surviving children, according to reports.

The authorities had been alerted to the incident by a call reporting harassment in the area. However, when they arrived, they found the victims at the property. The suspect is believed to be a Mexican male who was reportedly intoxicated and armed with an AR-15 style rifle. Officials are currently on the lookout for a Hispanic male who is approximately 5’8” tall, wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, work boots, and has short black hair.

“The Mexican male subject, he has been known to shoot his 223 out in his front yard, which is evident by the shell casings that are laying in the front yard,” said the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.

All of the victims present at the scene were between eight and 40 years old, with at least ten people believed to have been in the house when the police arrived. As the investigation is ongoing, locals have been advised to avoid the area and remain indoors.

Sheriff Greg Capers, of the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, spoke to ABC News and stated that all of the victims were shot from the neck up, with wounds described as “almost execution-style.”
