I love Italian everything – EVERYTHING. Italian food, clothes, shoes, handbags, and motorcycles are some of the bests in the world.
Thus, it’s no surprise that Beretta firearms are also regarded as some of the best in the world.
And the history of Beretta is as impressive as the guns themselves. Started in 1526, Beretta is the oldest continuously operated firearms manufacturer in the world.
As if that weren’t impressive enough, Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta is still a privately held company after nearly 5 centuries!
Today, we’re specifically taking a look at the Beretta Model 92 pistol.
The Model 92 isn’t just a great shooting gun, it’s become somewhat iconic over the years.
Even those who aren’t into guns and shooting could probably recognize a Beretta from across the room thanks to the notorious cutout on the slide. This feature isn’t just stylistic and distinguishable but serves to reduce the weight of the slide and, in turn, the recoil as well.
For reasons unknown, the Beretta 92 is also the handgun in most “no firearms” signs, depicting a handgun with a red slash through it.
Last, the M9 was also the standard military service pistol from 1985 to 2017, having replaced the equally iconic Colt M1911 .45 pistol after nearly 75 years in service. It served our soldiers well until the Sig P320 replaced it in 2017.
Yep, the Beretta Model 92 is one of my favorite handguns of all time and after just a magazine’s worth of ammo, it’ll be one of yours too.
