14 House Republicans voted to pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act alongside Democrats. The passing of this measure will mark the first time in nearly 30 years that Congress has passed a major piece of gun control legislation. 3 Republicans chose to abstain from the vote.

This gun control legislation will; create new guidelines and federal funding for Red Flag Laws, create Enhanced Background Checks for those under the age of 21, change the Federal Firearms Licensee system, create new penalties for straw purchasers, and close the “boyfriend loophole.”
