Former President Donald J. Trump is set to headline the NRA’s annual meeting as a speaker later this month.

The National Rifle Association’s annual meetings are set to resume this year after having been put on hold as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. This year’s meeting is taking place in Huston, Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center from May 27th through May 29th.

From the Washington Times:

Former President Donald Trump will headline the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) Leadership Forum later this month.

Mr. Trump will deliver remarks at the annual gathering of Second Amendment activists on May 27. He will be joined by other Republican speakers, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, Texas Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, Rep. Dan Crenshaw of Texas, North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

This is the first NRA annual meeting since its cancellation last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and its 151st overall.

“It is truly an honor to have President Trump address NRA members for the sixth time at our 2022 NRA-ILA Leadership Forum in Houston,” said NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre in a statement.

Donald Trump will be a headline speaker at the event alongside Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Senator John Cornyn, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw, North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.

This year’s annual meeting will also be subject to a lot of controversies, Lieutenant Colonel Allen West is going to challenge Wayne LaPierre to be the new top dog at the NRA and many of the financial scandals surrounding LaPierre and current NRA leadership are going to be brought up by guests.
