It seems as if a day can’t go by without some carjacker getting shot in the city of Philadelphia by his intended victim, a few more months of this and it will be hard to imagine criminals will play the same game.
Last Thursday a pizza delivery driver was making the rounds when a stranger appeared out of the shadows, drew a pistol, and demanded that he hand over the vehicle. The driver drew his own handgun and shot the would-be carjacker 6 times. The would-be carjacker was able to return fire but the delivery driver was unharmed and none of those shots hit the victim or a bystander.
Shortly after the exchange of fire, two other men came and picked up the suspect. These men took the suspect to a local hospital where he was placed in extremely critical condition. The police were quick to arrive and were able to interview these other two men.
Last year the residents of Philadelphia were subjected to 750 carjackings and this year the city is hitting the pace for over 1,000. Crime is on the rise in America and citizens are opting to get armed so they do not become a victim.
