House minority leader Kevin McCarthy is poised to become the Speaker of the House if the current polling data is to be believed, this is a great thing considering his position on the 2nd Amendment and his recent promise to defend it if he becomes speaker.

In a recent statement, Kevin McCarthy declared that if he becomes the Speaker of the House he will not allow any gun control to pass through Congress. “One thing I’ve learned is the Second Amendment is one of the most important amendments and you look at all my voting record. Listen, you watch this Congress itself—we believe in the Constitution,” McCarthy said.

This is great news for Americans everywhere. Gun grabbers in Washington DC have long dreamed of passing major gun control legislation and the Biden administration has been pushing for stricter regulations ever since taking office last year, with McCarthy at the helm these proposals are dead in the water.

While taking a stand against gun control is not exclusive to McCarthy and other Republicans who could lead the party if they win in November would likely knock down gun control proposals this is an important message to get across now before the election season kicks off.

McCarthy’s announcement is sure to help drive out the vote in the midterms, which are generally speaking a less popular election as there is no presidential candidate on the ticket to drive the media coverage. While Republicans are already poised to win big in November it is important that everyone works to further our chances.

A red wave in November means that most major gun control proposals will be shelved for at least two years and this will allow 2A groups and activists to focus their resources on states and localities, where the real battles take place. McCarthy’s message here is on point, let’s hope he wins and keeps this very important promise.

I’ll believe it when I see it. The Republicans have a habit of saying the right things to get elected then sit on their hands until the Democrats come back into power. I keep hoping they will show some backbone and do something meaningful but usually end up disappointed.

We need to Primary or force to retire the RINOs from the GOPe and make it a party that puts America and it’s Citizens first.

The only thing I can think of that makes a RINO better than a corrupt Democrat is that most Republicans usually support the Constitution.

The Republicans today are JFK era democrats. The only group showing the same persevence for Conservative values are the Libertarians. The most notable ones most recently being Rand Paul and his now retired father. Unfortunately the Republicans spend alot of money to keep non Republicans branded as insignificant while they slide to the left on almost all issues. Personally I would prefer to see the end of both parties for what they stand for – they don’t represent most working Americans!

I wish they would make Trump the Speaker instead of McCarthy.
And Jordan instead of McConnell in the Senate.
I do not trust Establishment Elite RINOs.

Trump doesn’t seem to get that being elected as a Florida House member could then project him – with a Republican dominated House, to become Speaker of the House. His time would be far better used as Speaker with strong control of Legislation for the next ten years instead of 4 years as POTUS fighting off more muckraking by the dems.

McCarthy is a gutless flake just like the rest of the establishment republicans. Blabing all the right talking points, and hiding under his desk when the going gets tough. Like most establishment republicans he’s an embarrasment. I defy you to name one thing he, or the republicans in general, stand for. Not what they parrot, but what they are willing to go to the mat for. Say what you want about the dems, and there is plenty of bad things to say, almost everything, but they are willing to fight to the bitter end, sacrifice seats, fall on their swords so to speak, to get what they want. Name one republican willing to do that. Crickets. The establishment republicans care about one thing and one thing only and that’s their own re-election future, not the countries. There are a few firebrand congress people that try and fight the fight, and McCarthey throws them under the bus and stabs them in the back the first opportunity he gets. Afraid they might interfere with his dinner party invitations I guess. But make no mistake, if rolling back anything the dems have done, or even doing any thing to slow down that train, is what you want, don’t get your hopes up. They had that chance in ’16-’18 and what did they do. Nothing except join forces behing the scene to try and counter Trump.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident”. The right to self-defense was instilled in the human spirit by God, before all time and is not negotiable. The writers of our Constitution termed them “Inalienable”. They cannot be taken away by anyone.
