More details have emerged about the Alec Baldwin Shooting and the authorities have now issued a search warrant for Alec Baldwin’s phone. Santa Fe Sheriffs have authorized police to review all text messages, photos, and stored location data on the actor’s phone. Judge David Segura signed off on the request this past Tuesday.

This new request for a warrant does not tell us a whole lot about the investigation other than that the police have probably not found anything to clear Baldwin of intentionally killing Halyna Hutchins. Did Baldwin intend to hurt anyone on the set? No, all evidence that we can see points to this being an accident that occurred as a result of negligence. The police do in fact need to clear Baldwin of doing anything intentional before they get to the bottom of what happened on set.

Here is a quick recap of everything that has happened since the story first broke:

  • Actor Alec Baldwin was involved in a negligent discharge on the set of the upcoming film Rust that ended the life of one individual and wounded another.
  • The on set shooting happened during filming when Alec Baldwin was doing a take with a revolver.
  • One producer claimed that the gun was safe and the onset armorer was supposed to clear the firearm prior to putting it on set.
  • Sources have confirmed that the firearm was in fact loaded with at least one round of live ammunition.
  • Baldwin claimed in a recent interview that he did not pull the trigger and while this was possible it was far more likely that he did in fact pull the trigger.
