Gun manufacturers have been making major moves over the past few years with many leaving their long-time homes to explore new opportunities in other states.

Smith & Wesson is joining its competition in fleeing the American northeast, the company has announced it will move its operations from Massachusetts to Tennessee.

For decades Smith & Wesson, as well as many other American arms manufacturers, have called New England their home but the company is being forced to relocate as a result of anti-2A laws and administrations in the region.

The reason for a lot of these moves is easy enough to explain, some states are pro-2A and very welcoming to the arms industry while other states have become less friendly to the arms industry and the 2nd Amendment in recent years. These companies have nothing to gain by staying in these states but everything to lose, moving across the country is the right decision and an easy one to make.

While it is easy to see why Smith & Wesson is moving across the country it is difficult to see who the winners and losers of this move are. Residents of Massachusetts are losing job opportunities in their region as a result of this move, residents of Tennessee on the other hand will have new job opportunities in their area. Anti-2A policies and administrations are costing locals jobs.
