The gun grabbers are back at it again, this time they are aiming to secure a federal “Gun Safety” board.

Gun safety is a truly distorted term at this point and time, it is as if we live in two separate countries when it comes to language like this. When gun owners use the term “Gun Safety” we are referring to several precautions you take when handling firearms(treat guns as if they are loaded, keep guns pointed in a safe direction, wear eyes and ears, and so on.) When the gun grabbers talk about gun safety they are referring to any number of anti-2A policy proposals that all work towards crushing the rights of gun owners.

This move for a “Gun Safety” board at the federal level, is not going to be an institution that will look to educate the public on wearing your hearing and eye protection, this board will be a gun control driven policy institute financed by the American taxpayer.

The board is being proposed by California Democrat Mark DeSaulnier who has put forward a bill that seeks to “combat our nation’s gun violence epidemic through evidence-based, scientific solutions.” For reference, DeSaulnier is a long-time gun control advocate who comes from one of the least free states in the union. DeSaulnier also has an “F” rating from the NRA, something he frequently boasts about on the campaign trail and on socials.

If this legislation were to pass, the board would be operating under the Department of Health and Human Services(HHS.) The HHS is currently run by Xavier Becerra, another long-time gun control advocate and former Attorney General of California. Becerra made national headlines while California AG when he sued the ATF. Why did a Democrat gun-grabber sue the ATF? Becerra did not think that the ATF was moving fast enough while moving to ban 80% lowers.

This board could be catastrophic long term, it could fuel debate with misleading statistics about “gun deaths” and “gun violence.” This board could also give the ATF and other agencies an excuse to push more regulation on an already over-regulated industry.

For future reference; the bill is H.R. 5273 and is being referred to as the Gun Safety Board and Research Act.
