The Taliban have taken over Afghanistan in just a short few days after the United States withdrew from the country and they are already working on implementing new laws in the country.

Some of the new laws being introduced are right up our wheelhouse here at Full Mag News, gun control. It’s not particularly strange to see authoritarian regimes swoop in and take away the arms of the people when they get into power, it is what we saw in Nazi Germany and Communist Russia so it shouldn’t shock you that it is going on in Afghanistan right now.

What is interesting about the Taliban’s gun control policy is that it draws many parallels from more modern gun control efforts in the west.

An official from the Taliban told ReutersWe understand people kept weapons for personal safety. They can now feel safe. We are not here to harm innocent civilians.

This line tells you all you need to know, this statement could have been taken directly from an American gun-grabbers speech and you would be none the wiser.

For those in the know, this parallel between American gun control efforts and the Taliban’s actions is no surprise. The current gun control action in Afghanistan is the seizure of all privately held firearms. The Taliban will not be overthrown by the people of Afghanistan anytime soon if they follow the new orders and turn in their arms.
