A man in Florida shot himself with his own gun while attempting to look like a “badass.”

Around 11 P.M. on Thursday at O’Riley’s Uptown Tavern in Pensacola, a man was showing off his pistol to other patrons. He swung the gun around and put the firearms into an imaginary holster when he then accidentally shot himself.

From The New York Post:

“I don’t know if he was pretending to be a badass or something,” bar manager Warren Sonnen told the News Journal. “But from what I can tell it was completely by accident.”

Cops on routine patrol were flagged down outside the bar after the shooting.

However, the wounded man left the bar and checked himself into a local hospital before cops got to the scene, the newspaper said.

Police said Friday they were still trying to determine if charges would be filed.

Gun safety is important, don’t give the grabbers another excuse by acting like this guy.

Discharging a Firearm in Public.
Brandishing a Firearm in Public.
Reckless Endangerment.

Those are 3 charges I can think of off the bat.

It sounds like two mistakes:
•don’t have a round chambered until needing to use the firearm.
•being in a bar implies drinking alcohol 🥃; don’t drink and drive firearms.
I learned these principles at the age of 7 when I took my first NRA course.

He should have limited himself to a cap pistol to minimize the medical procedure.
