The Democrat Mayor of Rochester, New York, Lovely Warren, has been a major proponent of gun control in both her city and the state. Her home was recently raided and authorities found cocaine and an firearm, this is a major issue because her husband, Timothy Granison, was convicted of armed robbery 24 years ago.

From Bearing Arms:

Turns out Warren should have been more concerned about illegally possessed guns in her home. On Wednesday, the New York State Police raided the home that Warren shares with her husband Timothy Granison and allegedly discovered him to be in possession of 31 grams of cocaine as well as a firearm, which is a no-no since Granison was convicted of armed robbery 24 years ago.

According to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, Granison was one of seven people arrested as part of an ongoing drug investigation that’s been going on for months.

For the moment, the only gun charge that Granison faces is possession of an unregistered firearm, though his felony conviction back in the 1990s makes him ineligible to legally own a firearm, regardless of whether or not it’s registered with the state of New York, as required under the terms of the state’s draconian SAFE Act. During a court hearing on Thursday, Granison pleaded not guilty to the drug and gun charges, and so far his wife has been silent about his arrest and the guns found in the couple’s home.

In the past, however, Warren’s been a vocal supporter of the SAFE Act and other restrictions on legal gun owners in the state, even as she’s sought to cut the Rochester Police Department’s budget amidst a sharp increase in violent crime in the city. Last August, she even lauded the Rochester PD for confiscating hundreds of guns, and vowed to keep up the pressure against those possessing them illegally.

Perhaps this predicament can explain why Mayor Warren is so concerned about the guns other people have, I believe there is an old adage about stones and a glass house.

Mayor Warren’s ONLY come back is to accuse a vast conspiracy…sound familiar…….?…everytime a Democrat gets caught in a situation…drugs, guns. illegal, they will do two things…..1.) I didn’t know, 2.) It’s not my ( our fault )….somebody else is just after us because they are trying to make us look bad for political reasons…know what?….it does look bad, and it looks bad due to your own activities….you didn’t know your husband had a gun and cocaine???? sure, guess what ,nobody is that naive……you’ll get more respect if you accept responsibility rather than trying to place blame somewhere else.

Does she propose cutting police funds so her husband won’t be caught or because he was convicted of a crime years ago? By any means he should be imprisoned and she should be removed from office as an accessory to his latest crimes.

Maximum sentences for both. They display themselves as public servants responsible for ensuring all the laws are obeyed. They should know better but arrogantly flouted the laws. Therefore, they deserve no breaks at all. Anyone giving odds?

Is this do as I say not as I do?
Does this woman deserve to be a mayor of ANY city? Husband bank robber? Possession of cocaine AND an illegal weapon….while the two faced mayor decries honest people owning weapons to defend themselves. Who the hell voted for her with so much baggage?
Turn her and her thug husband out of politics.

Once a person has paid the price society demanded (having served their sentence or other demand) his/her rights can not have been selectively removed. Nothing in our constitution allows for partial citizenship. I know that government wants to control guns for reasons other than our safety and that includes voting. Both of which can threaten their way of life. To allow the government to pass laws and have them enforced by partisan politics is or will be the fall of a free America.
As a last thought…if we allow the government to remove the gun rights or voting rights (for any reason) then there is nothing to stop them from removing ALL rights written or God given.

“The Fourteenth Amendment does not provide any procedure for revocation of United States citizenship. Under the Supreme Court precedent of Afroyim v. Rusk, loss of 14th-Amendment-based U.S. citizenship is possible only under the following circumstances:[30]
· Fraud in the naturalization process. Technically this is not loss of citizenship, but rather a voiding of the purported naturalization and a declaration that the immigrant never was a U.S. citizen.
· Voluntary relinquishment of citizenship. This may be accomplished either through renunciation procedures specially established by the State Department or through other actions (e.g.treason) which demonstrate an intention to give up U.S. citizenship.[31] Such an act of expatriation must be accompanied by “an intent” to terminate United States citizenship.[32]

On September 25, 1789, Congress adopted 12 of the amendments and sent them to the states for ratification. Ten of these amendments, known collectively as the Bill of Rights, were ratified and became part of the Constitution on December 10, 1791. The Bill of Rights guarantees individuals certain basic protections as citizens, including freedom of speech, religion and the press; the right to bear and keep arms; the right to peaceably assemble; protection from unreasonable search and seizure; and the right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury.
