TarHunt, a Pennsylvania based company, has developed a new slug called the Schrifle.
The Schrifle round is non-sabot projectile loaded into a 20ga plastic hull, the bullet sticks out the front just like a rifle bullet sticks out of the cartridge. The rounds are intended to be fired out of a 20ga shotgun with a rifled barrel.
The projectile is a lead-free hollow point slug that has been called the Raptor. While TarHunt is still experimenting with different weights you can only get the 239 grain projectiles with a muzzle velocity of 2150 fps for the time being.
While the concept is interesting and these rounds pack a real punch while hunting they also pack a punch to the wallet. A pack of 10 rounds will cost you a whopping $45.
