Eagle Arms Productions is banning the sale of 80% receivers at its upcoming gun show in Pennsylvania.

Media fear-mongering on guns is back as Congress debates several new gun bills, USA Today pushes anti-gun propaganda, and senators promise to introduce “assault weapon bans”. Some are already beginning to fold under the pressure, Eagle Arms Productions is banning the sale of 80% receivers at its gun show in Pennsylvania according to a press conference from Attorney General Josh Shapiro.

The media has long conflated too things under the term “ghost guns”, 80% receivers, and 3-d printed weapons. Both of these things are legal but legislators are hoping to ban both in future legislation.

From Pennlive:

Eagle Arms, based in Lehigh County, is the first gun show promoter in the nation to stop the sale of these untraceable weapons that have no serial numbers, Shapiro said. Many gun dealers and the head of an influential gun rights advocacy groups commend and support this change.

The news conference took place in the House district of freshman Democratic Rep. Amen Brown. The Lehigh County-based gun show owner Joel Koehler credited Brown for being instrumental in his decision to discontinue allowing vendors to sell the gun kits at his shows.

Shapiro is calling on other gun show promoters in the state to follow Koehler’s lead.

“Ghost guns are quickly becoming the weapon of choice for criminals and fueling the gun violence epidemic,” Shapiro said. “These DIY gun kits should be subject to the same background checks and qualifications as fully functioning firearms to prevent criminals who are not legally able to purchase or possess guns from getting their hands on these deadly, untraceable weapons.”
